Kosovo Minister of Foreign Affairs Behgjet Pacolli asked Albania to join the dialogue process between Kosovo and Serbia. He met with the Albanian Minister of Foreign Affairs Ditmir Bushati today in Pristina.

„I asked Albania not to sit idly by in this process, but be an integral part of our goal. Our goal is the dialogue with Serbia. And for Albania to be present. If the EU and the United States can, why not Albania?!“ said Pacolli.

The two ministers also discussed visa liberalization for Kosovo.

„This year we are making efforts for Kosovo to achieve its objective of free movement, and in that sense, we are seeking support from Albania,“ Pacolli said, after the meeting with Bushati.

He added that he will travel with Bushati to New York, where they will hold joint meetings on the visa liberalization.

Bushati said that Albania will provide support in this process.

„I am sure that we will overcome this challenge and that Kosovo will be included on the Schengen White List. There is no excuse now for not completing this process,“ he added.

Pacolli and Bushati also discussed the deepening of cooperation, especially in the field of economy.

Bushati also met with the Kosovo Prime Minister Ramush Haradinaj and the Kosovo Assembly President Kadri Veseli.

Veseli assessed that, after the completion of the dialogue process, Kosovo will get a seat in the UN -„within the borders with which it declared its independence and was internationally recognized.“

Haradinaj requested Albania’s support on the path towards European integration, Kosovo becoming a member of Interpol and other international organizations.
