The opposition movement Narodni pokret Otadžbina from northern Kosovo has accused Serbian President Aleksandar Vučić of “handing over the institutions of his own state to Albanians,” while continuing to rely on Kosovo Serbs as his political base. The movement described this as “political masochism.”
“It is bizarre that the main residents of ‘Ćacilend’ safeguarding Aleksandar Vučić’s ruling chair are some Serbs from Kosovo and Metohija. It is political masochism for them to support the one who betrayed them, sold them out, and is handing over the territory from which they come to our political and historical opponents,” the group said in a statement.
According to Otadžbina, instead of defending Serbia’s institutions in Kosovo, Vučić is “laying the foundations of Greater Albania,” even while the Serbian Constitution continues to define Kosovo as an integral part of Serbia.
“The way Aleksandar Vučić is behaving is deeply immoral, hypocritical and vile,” the statement added.
In recent months, media and social media reports have circulated alleging the presence of groups of Kosovo Serbs—known as the so-called “Banjska group”—in “Ćacilend.” These reports have expanded to include claims of more identified individuals from northern Kosovo and supposed areas of activity, including sporting events.

In the past several days, a number of public figures and experts have warned of an allegedly growing overlap between criminal networks and state structures, and of the purported mobilization of criminal groups for security purposes. Some activists have even claimed that Milan Radoičić himself is involved in the security arrangements for “Ćacilend.”
