For the very first time, the North Mitrovica Municipal Assembly will mark the anniversary of Kosovo’s unilateral declaration independence tomorrow.
Nedžad Ugljanin, the president of the North Mitrovica MA, confirmed for KoSSev that a formal session is scheduled for 10 a.m.
He said that the session will be very short, and that he is expected to address the councilors, noting that there is a possibility that one of them will ask to address the assembly.
„It will take just five minutes,“ added Ugljanin.
He stated that the session will be closed to the public, that is, that the media will not be allowed to attend.
Moreover, he claims that he scheduled the formal session today in the afternoon, after receiving the request of the councilors from the Albanian community.
The local Serbs from the north of Kosovo left the Kosovo institutions in November 2022, including the municipal assemblies. Their positions were then taken over by councilors from other communities, and Albanians became the majority in all local assemblies.
