Kosovo Police confiscated a gun they found in a Lada Niva vehicle parked near the Tri Solitera neighborhood in North Mitrovica. The deputy commander for the region North, Veton Elshani, confirmed for KoSSev that one person was briefly detained, and charged with „illegal possession of weapons“ and „the use of false license plates“.
Members of the Kosovo Police searched a vehicle in the parking lot near Tri Solitera yesterday morning due to the suspicion that its Novi Pazar license plates actually belonged to another car.
„There were license plates of another car on this vehicle, and that’s why we searched it,“ Elshani said in a statement for KoSSev.
During the search, they found a CZ pistol with one magazine without ammunition under the driver’s seat.
Elshani said that a person then came forward who introduced himself as the owner of the vehicle, after which he was taken into custody, but released shortly after.
He has been charged with „illegal possession of weapons“ and „the use of false license plates.“
The police officers confiscated the gun and the license plates.
