Milunovic and Rajcic on their dismissal from the GI SDP: Bozovic to show the Statute and how we violated it

„I ended up being the person who took Oliver’s death certificate and my ID card at North Mitrovica MA and I claim that I cannot be dismissed from an initiative that is part of my life by the decision of one lady – who has other political views or ambitions,“ municipal assembly councilor Dusan Milunovic said in response to the news of that he and councilor Igor Rajcic were all of a sudden dismissed yesterday from the GI SDP. Ksenija Bozovic, a fellow initiative member, announced the news at yesterday’s session of the North Mitrovica Municipal Assembly.

Two councilors, Dusan Milunovic and Igor Rajcic, approached the KoSSev newsroom on Wednesday night to speak about what happened at the most recent North Mitrovica MA session.

Earlier, a third GI SDP municipal councilor, Ksenija Bozovic, who recently joined the Srpska Lista candidate list, confirmed to Kontakt Plus Radio that they were dismissed from this initiative for „violating Articles 7, 14 and 19 of the SDP Statute – public speaking without SDP consultations, sharing a personal opinion without consultation, not attending meetings, non-response, etc.”

According to Bozovic, they can now attend the local assembly only as independent councilors.

Milunovic and Rajcic, however, told KoSSev that they were astounded by this „decision“ as it had not followed any prior announcement.

We learned about the dismissal during an MA session

Milunovic claimed that he first heard about the dismissal from Bozovic during yesterday’s MA session.

„Honestly, since the day Mrs. Bozovic formed a coalition with Srpska Lista, we have distanced ourselves from that decision. No one called us afterward, we were not in contact with anyone, so this today at the North Mitrovica MA is the first information we received. It happened after the speech in which Bozovic expressed her support of President Vucic, and after the applause that was so humiliating even for her. That’s when we got the information that we were dismissed from the initiative,“ Milunovic explained.

We never voted on who would make the decisions in the initiative

According to Rajcic and Milunovic, they allegedly never had the opportunity to vote for who would be the decision-makers in the initiative after the assassination of Oliver Ivanovic.

„We never had a meeting at which we decided that Ksenija Bozovic had been selected as someone to make decisions on behalf of the SDP,“ Milunovic added.

„Bozovic was the most vocal that there should be no switching to Srpska Lista“

Speaking about how the GI SDP operated after Ivanovic’s death, Rajcic and Milunovic stressed that practically the only activities organized were monthly anniversaries of his assassination.

The initiative held three meetings. According to Rajcic and Milunovic, the second meeting, which was held on September 1st, was the most important one. It was attended by 11 members of the initiative:

„All but one said ‘no’ to switching to SL, including Bozovic herself, while only one colleague said he would reply tomorrow,“ Milunovic explained, adding:

„Bozovic herself was the most vocal that there should be no switching. She even swore and told us that she was tired of everything, adding that we were in trouble because of some questioning.“

Milunovic and Rajcic said that two days later, to their surprise, they had a „one-on-one meeting“ with Bozovic, who had a completely different attitude. „We were brought to a fait accompli“ – they added.

When asked whether they believe this was a legitimate decision by the GI SDP, Rajcic and Milunovic responded that they wanted to see the Statute first as they claimed that they “have never done it so far”. Furthermore, they pointed out that after Bozovic’s “switch” to Srpska Lista, they did not regard her as a representative of the GI SDP anymore.

„As far as I am concerned, I said this the other day, she dismissed herself from that position. No way can we take the same path again. The fact that she announced such a decision today in the local assembly speaks of her political, legal maturity and everything else. We were supposed to be told about this at a party meeting. We neither heard this nor was it hinted to us, except as some sort of threat which was said will come if we did not accept the decision to join Srpska Lista,“ said Milunovic.

Bozovic to show us the Statute and point out the violation of Articles

At the same time, Milunovic urged Bozovic to publicly show the Statute of the initiative and point out how they have violated the Articles she referred to yesterday.

„I am obliged to ask Mrs. Ksenija Bozovic – since she announced that Igor Rajcic and I have been expelled from the GI SDI, to publicly show the Statute of the GI SDP and how we violated the Articles she referred to today. I hereby claim that I have neither violated any of the Articles of the Statute, nor have we ever, after the death of Mr. Oliver Ivanovic, chosen Mrs. Ksenija Bozovic to be a decision-maker in this way. Once again, I claim that I did not break any of the Articles of the Statute, nor did I feel obliged at any moment to be part of the parliamentary elections or any other story, as a member of the GI,“ Milunovic told KoSSev.

I’m not defending us. It will mean nothing to us whether we are SDP members or independent councilors – we will receive that same salary, but we are defending the dignity we talk so much about, not in the way that we think we are so dignified at all costs, but we think that this man gave us a chance and that we have to follow his policies and stay consistent with that until the end

No reply from Bozovic

KoSSev also contacted Ksenija Bozovic last night, however, she said that she was „unable to talk“ at the time of our call and told us to „try“ to reach her later.

In the meantime, we also sent her the following questions: What are the reasons for Dusan Milunovic and Igor Rajcic’s dismissal from the GI SDP? When was that decision made and could you provide a document on their dismissal? How do you comment on their allegations that they were not informed of the dismissal from the initiative up to the point of today’s meeting?

However, we received no reply prior to this news been published.

North Mitrovica Municipal Assembly does not send notices about the sessions of this local Kosovo Assembly to the KoSSev portal, but so far we have been able to attend the sessions thanks to the notices from the councilwoman Bozovic.

Ever since Bozovic announced that she is switching to Srpska Lista for the upcoming elections, for the first time since Ivanovic’s assassination, we have not received a press release from the GI SDP on the monthly anniversary. Also, this time we were not informed about the session of the North Mitrovica Municipal Assembly.
