„I don’t know the ethnicity of the killers of Oliver Ivanović, but I know that by doing that they removed themselves not just as part of the Serbian or Albanian people, but from the human race itself,“ Srdjan Milivojević announced today from the site of the murder of the Kosovo Serb leader, Oliver Ivanović.
Oliver Ivanović was shot dead on this day exactly six years ago. On this January 16, Ivanović’s friends, family, comrades-in-arms, as well as opposition leaders from Belgrade, including Milivojević, gathered in North Mitrovica at the site of his assassination and at the exact time the shooting took place.
Representative of the coalition Serbia against Violence, Srdjan Milivojević, said that this is a place where the innocent blood of an innocent man is crying out for justice.
Milivojević pointed out that Ivanović believed in freedom, democracy and justice, stressing that today „we are far from being a free, democratic society and from justice when it comes to the murder of Oliver Ivanović“.
On the other hand, he stated that „the instigators and preparwtors of this crime are known“, pointing out that the same people brought a monstrous propaganda video to Pink and Most television four months before Ivanović’s murder.
He claims that the same video was „signed“ by Srpska lista, as a „coalition partner of Albin Kurti“.
„In the time of justice, it will certainly be known who brought that video to Pink television, who brought it to Most television, who coordinated the broadcast of that video after the guest appearance of Goran Rakić from Srpska Lista,“ said Milivojević.
„Some of these people will soon sit in the Republic’s Assembly, there will no longer be guests of Aleksandar Vučić on the balcony, now they will sit as MPs, the same people who took the oath on the Kosovo Constitution in front of the Kosovo Parliament, will now swear on the Constitution of the Republic of Serbia that they will to protect human minority rights to the best of their knowledge and skill.“
„I see their best skills here behind me, that’s the best this regime knows,“ alleged Milivojević.
He adds that if the late Ivanović was alive, we would certainly not have Kosovo license plates today, nor the current situation overall.
A message for Ivanović’s murderers: Feel free not to have a clear conscience
The murder of Oliver Ivanovic cries out for justice, and I give my word to the murderers as well – feel free not to have a clear conscience, and I tell those who have information and knowledge about this murder to contact one of the People’s Deputies of the coalition Serbia Against Violence. We will continue to persevere in bringing to justice all the perpetrators of this heinous crime. And those who have a troubled conscience and sleep on Dedinje and saunter from Dedinje to Andrićev venac – let that troubled conscience give the answer, it’s true – a firearm with a silencer in Kosovska Mitrovica twitches a lot, and it twitches as fast as a heckler with a silencer in Svetogorska when Slavko Ćuruvija was killed, Milivojević pointed out.
At the same time, commenting on the formation of the Board of Inquiry to investigate all the circumstances of Ivanović’s murder due to the sloppy investigation, pointing out that he submitted such a request to the National Assembly of Serbia, but that the Board of Inquiry has not been formed to date, for which Milivojević places blame on the „regime of Aleksandar Vučić“.
He also commented Bratislav Gašić’s statement, who said that the killer of Oliver Ivanović was being hidden by „German news“, only for this statement to be denied by the German embassy:
„If that sentence was spoken so boldly, it means that the Serbian security authorities and the police were on the wrong track for six years and led the investigation in the wrong direction for six years.“
He reminds of last year’s „proud and arrogant statement of Prime Minister Ana Brnabić“, who stated that she is sure that this crime was not committed by Serbs.
I am sure that Serbia deserves a state of justice, a state of freedom, democracy, the state for which Oliver Ivanović lived, fought and advocated, the name of his organization will be the best bequest to the people of Kosovska Mitrovica, to persevere here in this very difficult place, he said.
In the end, he concluded, when that time of justice comes, „All crimes will be solved, everyone will be brought to justice. Serbia must be a state of laws, and people, above all, in Serbia and in Kosovska Mitrovica deserve to live in a free and safe state.“
