Kosovo’s Election Commission Confirms Final Results: LVV Secures 48 Seats, Srpska Lista Gets Nine

After more than a month of delays, Kosovo’s Central Election Commission (CEC) has officially confirmed the final results of the parliamentary elections. The commission reached its decision with nine votes in favor and two against.

The two opposing votes came from members of the ruling Vetëvendosje (LVV) party, which has contested certain postal votes allocated to the Democratic League of Kosovo (LDK).

LVV had previously filed complaints with the Elections Complaints and Appeals Panel and the Supreme Court, alleging irregularities and demanding a recount. Both bodies rejected the appeal.

Now, LVV has announced plans to escalate the case to the Constitutional Court. Party representative Sami Kurteshi argued that the election results should not be certified until all legal avenues have been exhausted.

On the other hand, Ilir Gashi from the Democratic Party of Kosovo (PDK) emphasized the importance of addressing procedural shortcomings but insisted that the process must move forward.

Parliamentary Seats Distribution

With the results now confirmed, LVV emerges as the election’s clear winner, securing 48 seats in the 120-member Assembly with 42.3% of the vote (396,787 votes).

PDK follows in second place with 24 seats (20.95%, 196,474 votes), while LDK secures 20 seats (18.27%, 171,357 votes). The coalition of the Alliance for the Future of Kosovo (AAK) and the Social Democratic Initiative has won 8 seats (7.06%, 66,256 votes).

Among Serbian parties, Srpska Lista remains the dominant force, winning 9 seats with 4.26% of the vote (39,915 votes). Meanwhile, Nenad Rašić’s Freedom, Justice, and Survival Party has secured one seat with 0.44% (4,139 votes), making it the only other Serbian party to enter the Assembly.

The remaining Serbian parties failed to cross the threshold:

Srpska Demokratija: 3,271 votes (0.35%)

Srpski Narodni Pokret: 1,846 votes (0.20%)

Civic initiative Narodna Pravda: 620 votes (0.07%)

Partija Kosovskih Srba: 462 votes (0.05%)
