Blerim Shala, political advisor to President Hashim Thaci says the Association of Serb-majority Municipalities will not be formed before signing of the final agreement between Kosovo and Serbia.
Shala in an interview with the TV station T7 on Monday evening said that the implementation of the Agreement on establishment of the Association of Serb-majority Municipalities which was reached between Kosovo and Serbia during the EU-facilitated dialogue in Brussels, will be formed only after Kosovo and Serbia reach a final legal-binding agreement.
“There will be no Association without binding agreement,” Shala told T7 program Pressing hosted by Leonard Kerquki.
“This is an issue which will be concluded in the legally-binding agreement and cannot be divided or treated as a special topic but naturally will end as one of the annexes of the binding agreement,” Shala said.
When talking on the initiative of Kosovo institutions launched recently on drafting of the statute of the Association, Shala said that this is a very complicated process considering discrepancies between Kosovo and Serbia.
