This structure gave them everything, boasted about 5 to 0 victories, and got nothing. Then someone made a „wise“ decision to disarm all Serbs, and now we are surprised by special forces invading the town center as they please, kidnapping and torturing whoever they want – Aleksandar Ivanovic shared his view on the epilogue of SNS policy towards Kosovo.
Commenting on the statements made by the Serbian president that children from 12 to 14 years of age are „ready to die“ because of „Kurti’s terror“, the nephew of the slain Oliver Ivanovic, lawyer and vice-president of SDS, Aleksandar Ivanovic, said in Utisak Nedelje show that it is always easy „to go to war with other people’s children and make harsh statements while other people’s children suffer the consequences.“
The announcements from Belgrade about the Serbs’ declaration, Blic’s reports that the Serbs will allegedly form the ASM, and Vucic’s statements that the Serbs will take „active steps“ on Vidovdan, Ivanovic interprets as an indication of a change in the „uniform of Srpska Lista“.
He says that the formation of something new corresponds to the announcements in Belgrade about the creation of a „state-building movement“ after the Serbian president stepped down as head of the SNS.
„It will be nothing but a continuation of the same policy, the same people, only in a different suit,“ he said.
He added that this party is also aware that after a decade of the same policies „citizens can no longer tolerate it.“
„People in Subotica, Belgrade, Kraljevo, Mitrovica, recognize this and that’s why they started chanting and using the words ‘treason’,“ he said, adding that the „treason“ is nothing new, as its roots can be found at the beginning of the SNS rule.
„They came on the wings of strong support from the international community. They had to deliver the signing of the Brussels Agreement. That Brussels agreement made practically everything possible for the Albanian side – from the energy system, we withdrew from all institutions, we withdrew Serbia from the north and the southern part, and now we are trying to defend those Serbs from this position,“ Ivanovic said.
„This structure gave them all that,“ he alleged, noting that the government then used the power of the media, „all the televisions they occupied, with national coverage,“ to explain to the Serbs that we were in a lead with 1:0, then 2:0, 3:0, 4:0… What is the one thing that the Serbs and Serbia got for such a big step forward, Ivanovic asked, then gave a reply – nothing.

According to Ivanovic, what is happening in Kosovo is a direct consequence of SNS policy towards Kosovo.
In his words, „someone“ made a „strategic and wise decision“ to „disarm all Serbs and for the Serbs themselves to return their weapons and withdraw from the police.“ „And then we are astonished by the unarmed people being sacrificed.
By the special forces invading the town center as they please, kidnapping whomever and taking them where and torturing them as they wish. This is the result of that policy,“ he said.
He notes that it is important for the authorities in Belgrade to display their power in the capital, recalling the recent rally organized by Aleksandar Vucic.
The rally was attended by a large number of Kosovo Serbs and held on the same day special units occupied municipal buildings in Zvecan, Leposavic and Zubin Potok.
„Gather up people, blackmail, pay, mobilize them, take Albanian buses and stuff all those people and bring them here, and leave the door open for those special forces to take over the institution, and then we will create tension, drama and save the Serb people“, he said.
There are two scenarios, according to Ivanovic, either „someone did it as per an agreement or someone failed to foresee that something like that would obviously happen.“
„It’s unknown which is worse out of those two scenarios. Either that you do something like that on purpose, or that you don’t have the capacity to foresee such an obvious situation. This is the consequence of all that,“ Ivanovic emphasized.
Threats to Jovic: Resembles the modus operandi Oliver was exposed to, I don’t believe they come from Pristina
Ivanovic also addressed the statements of the commissioner of the Movement for the Defense of Kosovo and Metohija, Nebojsa Jovic, who claimed that due to the latest threats he received he was forced to give up all political activities.
„It resembles the modus operandi that Oliver was exposed to, and I would now like one of the opposition MPs, especially from the parliamentary committees for defense and security, to request admission with the BIA authorities and see who threatened that man and his family members with liquidation,“ Ivanovic said.
He is a citizen of this country. He informed us all that someone made death threats against him. And I don’t believe that this comes from the Albanian side
Ivanovic requested the BIA’s report on Jovic, but also a comparison to be made with the notes on Oliver Ivanovic who also reported to the BIA that someone was threatening him before he was murdered.
„If there is a report on who is threatening him, then I would like someone to compare the notes – to see who he listed and where and from which sides the threat is coming. So let them compare… and see if there is a match,“ he said. Ivanovic claims that he is against Jovic’s withdrawal from political life, but also that „a new victim would not change anything“.
„Mr. Jovic as a new victim, and I am convinced that it would have happened in the next two months – it would not have changed anything. It would be difficult to explain to his family and tell all the eulogies how he lived well and how he died for a great cause. Such a loss of life would be in vain,“ he said.
He revealed that before the murder he also suggested to his uncle Oliver to go into hiding for six months, which Ivanovic refused to do.
„He said that it would signify his defeat and that he knew where the threats were coming from and that it would be bowing down to those people and that he would not do it. Despite all that tragedy, we are still proud of him for doing what he did and for turning out to be an honorable man, but the sacrifice and the price of all that is very high,“ Ivanovic concluded.
