Germany has not invested much in Kosovo because of corruption, says PM Haradinaj

Kosovo Prime Minister Ramush Haradinaj, marking tenth anniversary of establishing diplomatic relations between Kosovo and Germany, says there are no major German investors in Kosovo because of the perception on corruption making foreign investments difficult.

Haradinaj said that now that Kosovo is entering "second decade of its independence", Germany is worth regaining courage and increase investments in Kosovo.

“I am deeply convinced that Kosovo is compatible, competitive in the market, not only in the region. Our infrastructure enables not only operation in Kosovo’s market, but also links regional market subsequently the EU markets,” said Haradinaj noting that the young population of Kosovo is an important asset and committed to work, and at the same time Kosovo has many unused resources.

Haradinaj also mentioned large Albanian diaspora in Germany stating that they have a strong affiliation with Germany, a bond which "further strengthens relations between the two countries".
