A cow and a calf were stolen on Wednesday night from the Mitrovic family from the village of Radevo in the municipality of Gracanica. The theft was reported to the police.
The Mitrovic family noticed the empty barn in the morning when they went to feed the cattle. Olivera Mitrovic told RTV Kim that thieves cut the neighbor’s and their wire fence and stole a pregnant cow and a calf from the barn.
„We almost had a stroke when we got up this morning. We went to milk the cow and saw that the barn was empty. The door was closed as if the cows were there. Then we noticed that they cut our wire fence. They pushed the cow and the calf between the wall and the barn, there are visible traces on the wall where the cow skinned against it,“ Olivera said.
The theft was reported to the police.
„Police from Gracanica came. They made a report and estimated that it was a serious theft and that the value was about 2,500 EUR,“ she added.
This is the second time that Mitrovic’s cattle were stolen. The first theft happened ten years ago. The perpetrators were not found.
„I do not know where they find the courage to come to someone else’s yard and steal. Thieves can enter your house or barn … My son was awake until 3 am, but he did not hear anything,“ she underlined.
This cattle theft caused the Mitrovic family to lose their only source of income. „We live from that, my husband receives a minimal pension, now we cannot even buy another cow,“ said Olivera.
