“Dear Marko Djuric, the political and pluralism of attitudes are not division and luxury, but rather a heritage of democracy. That’s why we’ll walk … nobody is standing behind the protest and it looks like that annoys you. Now that know! If anything bad happens to any of us or there are any provocations, you will be held accountable,“ one of the organizers of the protest walk “1 out of 5 million”, which has been announced for this Saturday in North Mitrovica, Marko Jaksic sent this message to the head of the Kosovo Office, Marko Djuric via Twitter.

Marko Djuric is currently visiting the north of Kosovo ahead of the protest walk. He is sending messages of “ concord and unity“ of Serbs in North Mitrovica to the public, as well as, on the other hand, „to many who, perhaps on the inside, want to see Serbs in Kosovo divided, in which they will not succeed.“

“If in other parts of Serbia someone is protesting and dividing people on a political and other basis, there is simply no place for that here. The people are decisively opposed to that here, and political profiteers and manipulators, whether from the Djilas’ Alliance for Serbia, Jeremic’s, whosever – let them bypass Kosovska Mitrovica because, there is no going back from here, this is a Serbian area, not an area for divisions,” Djuric told Prva TV from North Mitrovica this morning.

„After this meeting and the open and honest exchange that we had, I can say that there is no dilemma that the efforts of many on the outside, and many, unfortunately, from the inside, to take down, as much as possible, the political and institutional unity of the Serbs in Kosovo and Metohija has intensified,“ he said in Zvecan last night following a meeting with political representatives of Srpska Lista and institution leaders.

Such messages, as well as Djuric’s three-day visit of the north of Kosovo, arrive ahead of the announcement that North Mitrovica will organize a protest walk of citizens against violence, media censorship and false reporting, but also the policy pursued by the current government of Serbia and President Aleksandar Vucic on Sunday, thus joining 26 towns in Serbia which have already done so. One of the constant demands of the protestors is to find out who killed and ordered the murder of Oliver Ivanovic. The Serbian government and President Aleksandar Vucic do not support these protests.

Threats?

Marko Jaksic told RTV Kim that he reported a “death threat” to the Department of High-Tech Crime yesterday – a response by the Twitter user „Balkanfox“ to Jaksic’s invitation to citizens to join them on the protest walk on Saturday.

“Pal, you need to be hanged in the middle of Terazije as an example. Shame on you, you are dividing the people, with all their troubles that is the last thing they need down there. Like they care about politics. Are you doing a favor to the Albanians??? My goodness, what you are doing!!!!!!,“ user Balkanfox tweeted.

One of the organizers, Dejan Nedeljkovic reacted to the threat last night via Twiter:
„And if something bad happens to any of us who are organizing a protest in Kosovska Mitrovica, to me, to Marko Jaksic, or the people who are walking that night, you will find out who is behind it… especially if the announcements that we will be exposed to various provocations come true!“
