The head of the Kosovo MIA, Xhelal Svecla, and the Minister of Administration and Local Self-Government, Elbert Krasniqi visited two villages in the municipality of Leposavic yesterday where the implementation of the Kosovo government-led project on the construction and renovation of Albanian-owned houses in the north has begun.
During their visit to villages of Ceranja and Bistrica, the officials visited visited four families there.
„In the north of Kosovo, the construction of houses has begun for families that benefit from the proposals of the Ministry of Administration and Local self-government for the construction and renovation of houses. Along with Minister Svecla, we visited the family of Hajriza Ali and the family of Bashkim Ibrahim from the village of Ceranja in Leposavic. We were in Bistrica with Muharem Muharemi’s family and Artan Imer’s family,“ announced Krasniqi.
Krasniqi also boasted about another move of the Kosovo government – paving a road in this municipality.
„The residents of Leposavic have a better road infrastructure, thanks to the road paved by the Government of the Republic of Kosovo,“ he said without specifying in what part of this municipality this road is located.
Recalling that the project for building houses is one of the projects of the Kosovo government, he referred to the construction in the Brdjani settlement in North Mitrovica. He also confirmed that these houses are being built by the Kosovo Ministry of Infrastructure.
The construction and reconstruction in this settlement, namely, preparation of the path leading to those houses, started last week.
At the time, we found heavy machinery, a truck and an excavator next to the narrow road in this settlement, preparing terrain or a path to these houses, which leads from Brdjani to Mali Zvecan.
At the scene, we also found members of one of the families whose house was included in the reconstruction project, who confirmed for KoSSev that work had started.
The Kosovo Minister of Infrastructure, Liburn Aliju, who first announced the project, told the media at the end of August that the project includes 25 houses in three lots, namely, four houses will be renovated, and the rest will be built.
At the time, he did not specify where these houses were located, nor when the works would begin.
The decision was approved a month later by the Kosovo government.
