The crimes carried out during the Kosovo war will be thoroughly prosecuted and criminal groups throwing military-grade hand grenades won’t prevent justice from being done, the head of the Kosovo MIA, Xhelal Svecla, said today in response to last night’s incident in Bosniak Mahala in North Mitrovica, when a powerful pyrotechnic device was thrown into the yard of a private house.
A strong detonation was heard last night in that area at around 10:40 p.m. As police confirmed, apart from material damage to the window of one van, no one was injured.
Preliminary information suggested the detonation was likely caused by a pyrotechnic device.
Today, however, after an investigation was carried out by an expert team, the police specified that it was an explosion of an M75 hand grenade.

Xhelal Svecla alleged that the incident is „a sign of revolt“ due to the arrest of three Serbs earlier this week, and despite the ongoing investigation, claiming that it was carried out by „criminal groups“.
In the first part of his announcement today, he addressed the arrests.
„They are suspected of being complicit in the torture, wounding, murders, deportations, and massacres of Albanians in Vucitrn, the surrounding villages, and the prison in Smrekovnica,“ this minister claims.
As a result, last night’s hand grenade explosion in the multi-ethnic part of the town is a message to the Kosovo judiciary aimed at „terrorizing citizens,“ he added.
In his words, „criminal groups“ reportedly behind the incident received „inspiration, support, and orders“ from Belgrade.
„The inspiration, support, and order for this criminal act came from the former Minister of Propaganda at the time of Milosevic, Aleksandar Vucic. Serbia committed genocide in Kosovo. Serbia, led by Vucic, not only does not accept this fact but glorifies war criminals. The proof of its unchanged attitude is the very arrangement of the act to throw a grenade,“ concluded Svecla.
