While the process of recalling the mayors is expected to begin soon in three northern municipalities, the presidents of the municipalities of North Mitrovica and Leposavic held a meeting where they discussed plans and projects for the upcoming year. At the same time, the meeting presented a rare opportunity to spot the mayor of Leposavic outside of his workplace, where he has also been living for months now.
Erden Atić revealed that he met with Lulzim Hetemi in the North Mitrovica municipal building.
They reportedly discussed activities implemented in the municipality of North Mitrovica, as well as „planned projects for the next year“.
„We discussed issues of interest to the citizens of both municipalities,“ announced Atić.
Atić also congratulated Hetemi „on his dedication in implementing projects for the citizens of Leposavic“.
Hetemi did not advertise this meeting.
Although some media outlets speculated that the mayor of Leposavic, Lulzim Hetemi, did not leave the building of this municipality from the moment he entered it, on May 26 with the help of special units of the Kosovo Police, Hetemi himself denied these allegations on several times claiming that he actually this facility on a number of occasions.
On the other hand, as confirmed by the chairman of the North Mitrovica Municipal Council Nedžad Ugljanin, last week, the Serbs took part of the necessary documentation, and according to administrative instructions, the deadline for collecting signatures for the petition started running from then on.
Ugljanin claims that this part of the documentation will not be enough for them to do so because they lack the authorization of the North Mitrovica Municipal Assembly.
