There has been a lot of false and fake news in the past days about how agreements are being reached on Kosovo, and that a plan has already been made. No, it has not been discussed and there is no such thing – the Serbian President, Aleksandar Vucic said in Belgrade today, referring to a meeting with Hashim Thaci and Richard Grenell which took place two days ago in Washington. „I would tell you if there was a plan, I don’t hide anything from my people,“ he added.
At a press conference today, Vucic shared with the public what is happening on the international scene regarding the Kosovo issue. „So that the people can know the full truth,“ he said.
Vucic also commented on Kosovo Prime Minister, Albin Kurti’s announcement that he would partially abolish the tariffs on March 15, as well as his reaction on the news of another withdrawal of recognition. „Serbia is responding with an enhanced campaign for withdrawals of recognition to this goodwill to partially abolish the tariffs,“ Kurti said.
„I simply must react to that kind of thing; it’s not even a trick anymore. I’ve reacted and warned about this hundreds of times. So you do something awful to someone and then you take and beat someone in the neighborhood and then you tell him – well no problem, I won’t pummel you with my fists every day, I’ll just slap you now,“ Vucic said.
On the other hand, he sent a message to Pristina that it cannot tell Serbia how to do its job:
„I repeated it in Washington, and I repeated it to the EU representatives. The second you sign that you will not be – before the end of the dialogue, that is, that you will temporarily sign, whether the dialogue is successful or unsuccessful – seeking admission to INTERPOL, UNESCO and other international organizations, we are ready to say that during that time we will not go for additional withdrawals of recognition.“
He also pointed out that Serbia cannot stop with the revocation of recognition if Pristina continues its campaign to gain membership in international organizations.
The Serbian President reiterated that if a deal is to be made – it must be „a compromise“ and not „someone’s one-sided desire.“
Vucic: „If there was a grand plan on Kosovo, I would tell you“
The President talked about his recent Washington visit on two occasions – in the TV Pink studio this morning and later in the day from the Presidency building. Speaking about his meeting with Kosovo President Hashim Thaci, he repeated that „there is no grand plan, no agreement“ on Kosovo.
„If there was (a plan) I would tell you as I do not hide anything from my people – even when things were difficult I never hid anything. And when we were supposed to go and explain things to our people in northern Kosovo, I did so after the Brussels Agreement”
According to Vucic, the reason why there is no deal is because he set as a condition that there would be no “substantive discussions until the tariffs are abolished.“
Speaking about tactical matters, he revealed that he also discussed the „Mini Schengen“ with the Kosovo president:
„How to enable the faster passage of services, people, money, how to set up air and rail lines. It is very important that this railway line goes on the same route out of many reasons that I would not like to talk about, and the road, the highway through Nis to Prokuplje, Kursumlija, and Pristina.“
This is an important point, especially for the people of central Kosovo and Sirinicka Parish, he added.
He announced that he would be heading to Berlin within ten days to meet with Chancellor Merkel, with whom he will discuss, among other things, the Kosovo issue.
Vucic also announced that he would call parliamentary elections today.
Judah, Weber, Bieber – liberal analysts for whom Vucic is always the devil
Earlier this morning on the TV Pink show he mentioned particular names as well known European liberal analysts who do not have good wishes for Serbia – Bodo Weber, Tim Judah and Florian Bieber, while still waiting for the latter’s reaction..
They are always against Serbia’s interests and for whom Vucic is the „devil“, Vucic explained.
„Imagine if Serbs and Albanians try to come to an agreement. Would Bodo Weber and Tim Judah always react like that?! Because their interests and their countries of origin are more important than the interests of Serbs and Albanians.“
Richard Grenell was completely right on slamming Judah in saying that there is no “grand deal” and that it “was not discussed“
