„Kurti’s visit to Tetovo and the events in North Macedonia represent a huge scandal,“ the Serbian president, Aleksandar Vucic, said today during his guest appearance on TV Pink.
Kosovo PM Albin Kurti paid an unofficial visit to North Macedonia on Friday where he met with the mayors of the Skopje municipalities Cair, Visar Ganiju, and Tetovo, Bilal Kasami.
During this visit, he said that this country should keep „close to Kosovo, Albania, and Bulgaria and away from Serbia and Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic“.
In the Macedonian capital, Kurti and his compatriots marked the renaming of a street once called „Second Macedonian Strike Brigade“ street to „Adem Demaci“ street.
In Tetovo, behind these Albanian officials, a flag with a map of Greater Albania was displayed, along with the Kosovo and Albanian flags.
In the meantime, a video clip of the speech of the mayor of Tetovo was published on social networks, in which he allegedly referred to Kurti as „the special prime minister of Tetovo“ and „the prime minister of all Albanians“.
„The idea of Greater Albania was promoted there, the symbols of a great Albania were displayed. He (Kurti) was presented as the prime minister of all Albanians and the prime minister of Tetovo,“ Vucic said on TV Pink this morning.
He went on to condemn the fact that the Second Macedonian Brigade Street in Skopje was renamed to ‘Adem Demaci’ Street.
The Serbian president revealed that Demaci was convicted on three occasions, in 1958 he was sentenced to three years in prison, from 1964-1974, and from 1975-1990, when the presidency of the SFRY granted him amnesty.
„He spent 28 years in prison as the worst ideologue pusher for greater Albania and a separatist,“ stressed Vucic.
The Serbian president has often described Kurti as someone who wishes to be the „heir“ of Enver Hoxha and Adem Demaci. „That man got the street instead of the Second Macedonian Brigade, and he was also the mentor and idol of Albin Kurti,“ he said today.
Vucic also says that „they took the only Albanian member of Parliament of Serbia, Shaip Kamberi, under their wing with money, but also in other ways.“
„They are trying to provoke further crises. Well, when you take Ragmi Mustafa as an adviser to (Besnik) Bislimi, expecting that not only Kosovo will be the topic, but the wider region will be the topic and that the creation of Greater Albania will finally be initiated, this is worrying,“ said Vucic.
He then boasted about the strength of the Serbian army, alleging that if that were not the case, Kurti would have attacked Serbia many times.
“Just look at him and his ideology.”
He would not only attack Serbia proper, but North Macedonia and Montenegro as well, and the question is what would happen to Albania
Vucic hailed the statement of Serb politician Dragan Sutanovac, regarding the speech of the mayor of Tetovo.
„When the ‘most democratic’ prime minister in the Balkans is announced in North Macedonia as the prime minister of all Albanians, it is a clear confirmation of the fact that this is a man who does not think of de-escalating in the North of Kosovo, but goes one step further towards the destabilization of North Macedonia and the region!“ Sutanovac tweeted.
Politicians from the West who support Kurti’s policy, on the account they „invested a lot in their child“, are now shifting “the blame to Serbia at all costs“, he added.
„That’s why you have Menendez, that’s why you have Alicia Kearns, that’s why you have Michael Roth,“ said Vucic, referring to the recent letter from parliamentarians in the West.
It is up to Serbia to preserve the people and the country, to preserve peace, and accept compromises and let things go when possible in order to preserve peace, Vucic said.
„But we always have to strengthen our army… Our army today is much stronger than it was, but we have to protect ourselves because we are the only non-NATO country in the region. And if we want to preserve our military neutrality, we have to consider the level of our own strength,“ he concluded.
