Almost 150 kilograms of marijuana was found and seized yesterday from three persons of Serbian nationality on the outskirts of the Istok – a town in Pec municipality, Gazetablic reported. The operation was carried out by a Kosovo police drug trafficking unit in Pec. The GazetaBlic portal has revealed the full names of the arrested Serbs, as well as the time the detainees had intended to travel to North Mitrovica from the Istok.
The suspects are G.B., G.M. and U.R., and the marijuana was hidden in a trailer been towed by a vehicle with Serbian license plates, GazetaBlic wrote.
The police found 113 packages, within transparent nylon bags, containing a substance suspected to be marijuana, weighing 145 kg and 641 grams, in a trailer with license plates AG-025-NS, reads the Kosovo Police report.
The police confiscated, in addition to the trailer, an Opel Meriva car with license plates ZR-11-JP, as well as other evidence, such as a blue weighing scale – most likely for drugs – six mobile phones, and three pairs of black gloves, and some other items.
By the order of a competent prosecutor, the detainees are going to be held in custody for 48 hours and they are set to appear before a judge at the Basic Court in Pec.
