Kosovo Police Seize Weapons and Uniforms in Northern Kosovo Raid

In an operation carried out in northern Kosovo today, Kosovo police confiscated a cache of weapons, ammunition, explosives, and uniforms—some bearing Serbian insignia and a jacket labeled “Civil Protection.”

Kosovo authorities have linked the seizure to Milan Radoičić and the Civil Protection organization. The operation is ongoing, officials confirmed.

At a press conference held at the Northern Kosovo Regional Police headquarters in North Mitrovica, Kosovo Police Director Gazmend Hoxha and Interior Minister Xhelal Sveçla presented the confiscated materials and provided statements, mentioning Milan Radoićić, Civil Protection, Vučić and Serbia.

However, despite the presence of Serbian-language media, no translation was provided.

Allegations of Continued Paramilitary Activity

Sveçla claimed that the raid, carried out in the village of Rodelj in the Leposavic municipality, was based on intelligence reports and aimed at dismantling what he described as “parallel structures” operating in Kosovo.

“Thanks to intelligence information, the police conducted an operation in which various uniforms, military equipment, a range of weapons and ammunition, as well as indoctrination documents were discovered—proving that the parallel structure ‘Civil Protection’ continues to operate in the Republic of Kosovo,” Sveçla stated, according to Pristina-based media.

“In the operation, we found these weapons, ammunition, and equipment… It is evident that this group had a member of Civil Protection. That is a terrorist organization in Kosovo, according to the decision of the Government of Kosovo, and we are working non-stop to bring all remnants of the terrorist group, Radoičić, as well as Civil Protection and the North Brigade, to justice,” said Sveçla.

Language Barrier at Press Conference

When asked by a KoSSev journalist to provide statements in Serbian—citing Kosovo’s Language Law—Sveçla acknowledged the request but said the situation posed challenges.
“I agree,” he responded. “However, this is an emergency press conference, and we are facing difficulties. I will do my best to briefly summarize what I said and answer your questions directly.”

Ongoing Operation and Unanswered Questions

The minister confirmed that one individual was detained for questioning but declined to provide details on charges or additional locations being targeted in the operation.

“There are weapons we have already found, but also weapons yet to be discovered,” Sveçla said, adding that further conclusions would be drawn as the investigation progresses.

Despite announcing that media would receive a full inventory of confiscated items after the press conference, no such list has been released yet.

Items displayed at the briefing included Serbian military uniforms, a jacket labeled “Civil Protection,” camouflage jackets and vests, pants, two rifles, multiple magazines, various caliber ammunition, binoculars, a gas mask, a military bag, books, and a plastic bag.
