„I did not come here to blame anyone, I will not engage in politics, those who are responsible for peace and order in Kosovo are standing behind us, they who have been suffering for ten years both what is happening in Serbia and what is happening here. It is blatantly trampling on all possible laws,“ Aleksandar Jovanovic Cuta, leader of the Ecological Uprising movement, said in front of the Zvecan municipal building yesteday.
Jovanovic visited Zvecan around noon yesterday with his colleague in the assembly Miroslav Aleksic, accompanied by Zarko Ristic – the president of the provincial committee of the People’s Party and colleague from the party Danijela Nestorovic.
They intended to personally provide support to the citizens who have been protesting for weeks now. „We came to our country to support people whose children have been shot at here for years now. Whose children, in 21st century Europe, cannot walk peacefully.“ Jovanovic told the gathered media.
Speaking about the newly elected Albanian mayors, Jovanovic says he believes that they do not have the legitimacy to perform these functions, and that the current situation must be resolved in another way.
„We should not blame each other. It is easiest to blame someone else. We have to solve this together in Serbia and Kosovo and Metohija,“ he said.
Jovanovic noted that this is not the last time he will come to support his country.
„I came here together with my colleague Nestorovic, to support the people here, in my country, and this isn’t going to be the last time,“ said Jovanovic.
The government with multi-companies made deals behind the people’s backs, both in Kosovo and Serbia
This MP believes that there is no big difference between what is happening here and in Serbia, due to the multi-companies that the government brought in and „made deals with behind the people’s backs“.

As part of those projects, such as Rio Tinto, he notes, it is said that it is necessary to relocate the population for the sake of someone’s interest to mine lithium, behind the Jadar area.
„There are as many such projects as you want, for us, Kosovo is happening all over Serbia,“ he said.
„Violence everywhere in Serbia“
This morning, Serbian opposition members visited the fenced-off parts of the municipal building in Zvecan, greeted some of the gathered citizens, and then headed to the KFOR fence, where they gave brief statements to several media outlets, before heading to North Mitrovica.
However, at the end of their speech, a group of citizens suddenly started protestin, namely, at the moment Nestorovic started her speech.
When Aleksic and Cuta approached the gathered demonstrators in Zvecan with the intention of talking to them, around half a dozen citizens started shouting insults at Aleksic and Cuta, accusing them of coming to „collect political points“.
The same citizens criticized them for their “bad actions” when „they were in power“. They argued that at this moment the citizens themselves „do not need any political party“ and that „they do not want any support from anyone.“
Some accused Aleksic and Cuta of being the ones who „released Kurti from prison and sent Milosevic to The Hague“. Other gathered citizens watched calmly on the sidelines, and some of them even greeted them and took photographs with them.
Nestorovic: We are the same people, I cannot believe the amount of aggression and violence
„I simply cannot believe the amount of aggression and violence, we are the same people, we actually care about the Serbian people in whatever territory they are, this is our country and we simply have a common narrative, we have a common interest, I would love to hear what people have against other political options,“ Nestorovic reacted to the sudden burst of outrage by some of the protestors.
She invited everyone to a dialogue, so that all people, both in Zvecan and in all parts of Kosovo, can have normal lives.
