Tanjug news agency has reported that the head of the Kosovo Office Marko Djuric was denied entry into Kosovo at noon today.
He was refused entry at the administrative border around 3 o’clock, even though, according to the Kosovo Office, his visit „was properly announced“, the same agency reported.
Tanjug did not specify which administrative crossing Djuric used to attempt to enter Kosovo.
There are no details on the reasons for Djuric’s visit.
Djuric, on the other hand, claimed that it was a „scandalous“ decision by Pristina.
„This is a scandalous decision by Pristina, contrary to all agreements and elementary principles of the freedom of movement,“ he said in a statement for Tanjug.
He announced that after his return to Belgrade and after consultations with Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic he will inform the public on the reasons for „pressures and blackmail“, which the Serbian side suffered today and in the past days, due to its unwillingness to accept „Pristina’s decisions which would be directly against Serb interests.“
Kosovo media reported, citing Serbian media reports, that Djuric was denied entry at Jarinje border.
The Kosovo Police denied, however, that Djuric was refused entry into Kosovo.
The Deputy Director of the Kosovo Police for the North Mitrovica region, Besim Hoti, told Pristina-based Lajmi that Djuric was granted permission to enter Kosovo, but that he did not enter (Kosovo) for reasons of his own.
„He was not denied entry, he had permission to enter Kosovo, and as to why he returned, he had his own reasons,“ Hoti said.
