Two men narrowly escaped injury after their car slid into Gazivode Lake while they were taking photos by the water, the Kosovo Police confirmed for KoSSev.
According to Erduan Baliqi from the Kosovo Police, the unusual incident occurred at the popular bathing spot known as “Kolašinske Stene,” frequented by Kosovo Albanians.
The men had parked their car and stepped out to take photos near the lake. Moments later, they reportedly noticed the vehicle rolling down the slope into the water.
“They forgot to pull the handbrake,” Baliqi told KoSSev.
While neither of the men was injured, the car sustained material damage. Police and local services are currently working to pull the vehicle back onto the road.
This is not the first incident at this location. In late July, a young man of Albanian nationality tragically lost his life after jumping from a nearby bridge into the lake. The search for his body involved KSF diving units.
