Authorities in North Mitrovica conducted a series of inspections today, including a visit to the well-known restaurant „Tri Šešira“ and, according to unofficial sources, the kitchen of the Clinical Hospital Center in North Mitrovica.
Restaurant Inspection Leads to Seizures
Municipal inspectors, accompanied by police officers, entered the „Tri Šešira“ restaurant earlier today, confiscating vegetables, dairy, and other food products. According to the restaurant’s owner, Dejan Bojković, the seized goods lacked proper documentation.
Bojković also claimed that he was ordered to close the restaurant until its kitchen was renovated to meet required standards, necessary paperwork was completed, and tax obligations were settled.
The Kosovo Police for the northern region confirmed to KoSSev that they were requested to assist municipal authorities in carrying out the inspection.
However, they also noted that inspections were conducted at multiple locations.
A brief statement from the municipality of North Mitrovica described the operation as a „routine inspection.“
„The municipal inspection, along with sanitary authorities, is conducting a routine check,“ Visar Syla, chief of staff for the mayor of North Mitrovica, told KoSSev.
Further questions about the scope, reasons, and specific locations of the inspections went unanswered.
Meanwhile, inspector Fatir Berzati, who was seen outside „Tri Šešira,“ declined to comment. When approached by a KoSSev reporter, he entered an official vehicle, covering his face.
Hospital Kitchen Also Inspected
According to unofficial sources, municipal inspectors also visited the kitchen of North Mitrovica Hospital Center, which operates within the facilities of the former Vojni Remont.
The hospital’s director, Zlatan Elek—who also serves as the head of the Serbian List political party—did not respond to calls from KoSSev reporters. A Viber message seeking confirmation also remained unanswered.
However, in a statement to Radio Kontakt Plus, Elek confirmed that inspectors had visited the hospital’s kitchen without prior notice.
„Sanitary inspectors arrived at the kitchen that serves the hospital center, which operates within the system of the Republic of Serbia’s Ministry of Health. After we informed them that the premises are owned by the public utility company ‘Standard’ and that we have valid leasing documentation, the inspectors left the building,“ Elek stated.
