Today Catholic and Protestant Christians, as well as several Orthodox churches, celebrate Christmas. On this occasion, Father Sava, the abbot of the Visoki Dečani Monastery, along with his monastic brotherhood, visited members of KFOR, the Sisters of Mother Teresa, and Don Lorenzo Sopi to extend Christmas greetings.
In the morning, Father Sava, accompanied by Father Petar and Brother Dimitrije, visited the Sisters of Mother Teresa in Peć and Don Lorenzo Sopi, a local Kosovo Albanian Catholic priest. Along with their heartfelt Christmas wishes, they delivered festive gifts to their hosts.
The group also made a stop at the KFOR base Villaggio Italia, where they met Colonel Mundo and his soldiers, offering them warm holiday greetings.
Father Sava extended his Christmas blessings to all believers celebrating the holiday according to the Gregorian calendar, wishing them peace, hope, and joy.
“May the light of Christ’s birth fill your hearts with peace, hope, and joy, reminding us all of God’s infinite love and His desire to dwell among us. In the humble manger of Bethlehem, we see the mystery of the Incarnation, where the eternal God enters time and space to bring salvation to humanity. Let us embrace this holy season with gratitude, striving to reflect His love in our lives and extend His peace to all around us,” Father Sava said in his message.
The Peć region has long been a model of interfaith dialogue, with religious leaders fostering mutual respect and cooperation. During major religious holidays, it has become a tradition for leaders of different faiths to visit and congratulate one another.
