The gas station „NIS petrol“ in North Mitrovica has been closed today, the Kosovo Police confirmed for KoSSev. Two gas stations in Zubin Potok were also closed.
A yellow tape was placed at both entrances to the gas station in North Mitrovica, KoSSev verified at the scene.
The deputy commander of the Kosovo Police for the region north, Veton Elshani, told KoSSev that the officers of the Kosovo Privatization Agency, as well as the Tax Administration and members of the Kosovo Ministry of Trade, visited the gas station today.
Elshani was unable to share additional details as to why this gas pump was closed, stating that the police of the region north were only providing assistance to the Privatization Agency.
„As far as we know, the gas pump is closed,“ he said briefly.
A sticker has been placed on the door, presumably by the Kosovo institutions whose officials visited the facility.
In the afternoon, a Carabinieri vehicle stopped next to the gas station, and the KFOR mission officer spoke briefly with members of the Kosovo Police. Also, EULEX jeeps visited this location.
In the meantime, two gas pumps in Zubin Potok have also been closed by the Privatization Agency of Kosovo.
One of the stations is situated near the center of Zubin Potok, Elshani confirmed for KoSSev.
Zibinpotok.info reported that a yellow tape was installed in front of this pump as well.
The other gas station also belongs to NIS petrol. It is located near the bridge near the dam on Lake Gazivode, Elshani told KoSSev.
KoSSev is awaiting further information from the Tax Administration of Kosovo about the reason these gas stations were closed.
