KP launches an investigation into inscriptions painted on an unfinished house in the Brdjani settlement.

The Kosovo police launched an investigation into inscriptions that were spray painted yesterday on a house in North Mitrovica, which is being constructed for an Albanian family.

The inscriptions „No surrender“ and „Russia“, as well as the sign 4 S and the letter „Z“, were painted on the outside walls of the house, which is located in the Brdjani settlement.

A man reported this case to the police yesterday morning, at 7:15 a.m., after which the police launched an investigation.

The deputy commander of the KP for the region north, Veton Elshani, specified for KoSSev that these inscriptions were most likely written late the night before, and that the case of „inciting hatred and inter-ethnic intolerance“ has been opened.

He added that there are no suspects for now.

Krasniqi: „Criminal structures are not interested in normal lives“

The Kosovo Minister of Local Self-Government Administration, Elbert Krasniqi, reacted last night, specifying that it was a house being built for Albanians.

He alleged that such inscriptions prove „the way criminal structures think“.

„Criminal structures are not interested in normality. They are inspired by Serbia’s lack of will for normalization. Graffiti with Serbian nationalist and Russian fascist symbols on the newly built house of an Albanian prove the way these criminal structures think,“ said Krasnići, while also publishing the photos of the house in question.

In September of last year, the Kosovo government approved the reconstruction of Albanian houses that were damaged in the period 1998-1999 in the north.

The first works, as part of this project, which is implemented by the Kosovo Ministry of Infrastructure, started in October last year. The renovation and construction of new houses was launched in North Mitrovica first, in one of the four multi-ethnic settlements – Brdjani.
