Bulgarian Prime Minister, Boyko Borissov, is expected to visit Kosovo on Monday. He will come to Pristina at the invitation of Kosovo President Hashim Thaci. During his visit to Pristina Borissov will meet also Kosovo Prime Minister Ramush Haradinaj, and Speaker of Parliament Kadri Veseli.

Bulgarian PM Borissov, whose country is holding the rotating Presidency of the EU Council, will arrive on Monday (16 April) in Pristina. His visit has been confirmed by Kosovo President’s Office. “Bulgarian Prime Minister, Boyko Borissov, arrives on Monday in Kosovo at the invitation of the President Thaci. He will meet also with the Speaker of Assembly Kadri Veseli, and Prime Minister Ramush Haradinaj,” President’s Press service confirmed to Gazeta Express.

Thaci has recently had a phone conversation with Borissov, to discuss on the Western Balkans Summit which will be held in Sofia, which is important for EU journey of the Western Balkan countries. In a Facebook post after the phone conversation President Thaci said that he will soon meet Bulgarian Prime Minister “to coordinate related to the bilateral agenda, as well as Euro-Atlantic agenda.”

Kosovo’s participation in Sofia Summit has triggered reaction of the Spanish Prime Minister, Mariano Rajoy, who according to Spanish media told his Bulgarian counterpart that he is considering boycotting the summit if Kosovo President Thaci is invited.

However a few days ago President Thaci published the official invitation to attend the Sofia Summit, signed by the President of the European Council, Jean-Claude Juncker and Bulgarian PM, Boyko Borissov. Bulgaria, which holds the rotating Presidency of the EU Council, plans to host the leaders of the remaining 27 EU members and the six Western Balkans countries, including Kosovo, at an EU-Western Balkans summit.
